NANI MAY LEAVE

Manchester United winger Nani was widely expected to leave the club in the summer, but he performed a U-turn and signed a new contract just a few months after the arrival of David Moyes. However, it seems that he is not part of Moyes’ plans right now and he could leave in the summer.

The 27-year-old had been subjected to interest from the likes of Juventus in the past, but it was primarily believed that they were looking at him as a viable option since he was having only a few months left on his contract. The player’s agent has stated that Nani is more likely to leave United in the summer.

It has been a very poor season for the club and there are expected to be wholesale changes in the summer with Nani one of the first names expected to depart. After the arrival of Juan Mata, he has found first-team opportunities limited at Old Trafford. He has made just 12 appearances – scoring just two goals – this season. He did come on as substitute in the 4-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday, but it would not be surprising to see him miss out on the squad that will take on Bayern Munich in the midweek Champions League action.

“Nani is a very important player and at this time the only thing I can say is that he is likely to leave Manchester. The problem for Fiorentina and other Italian clubs is the player’s salary. But we will evaluate all bids. Our relationship with United is great. Fiorentina have to speak with Manchester United about Anderson and maybe there will be an opportunity to talk about Nani too,” said the player’s agent. Anderson is not expected to return to United after his shirt number was given to Mata following his £ 37 million move.
